      <image:title>About Us - Cinthia Varkevisser - Board President</image:title>
<image:caption>A martial arts black belt, author, speaker, entrepreneur, and longtime Oakland community member, Cinthia brings decades of experience in leadership, personal development, and community-building to the organization. She believes empowerment begins with helping people recognize their own strength, trust their voices, and make confident choices. Cinthia’s professional background includes construction, real estate, strategic intuition, and business ownership. Known for seeing patterns, asking necessary questions, and turning insight into action, she is committed to advancing Tulen’s vision of peaceful, safe, and courageous communities where people of every background feel respected, heard, and powerful.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Us - Nikki Hampton - Secretary</image:title>
<image:caption>I'm a People and HR leader with nearly two decades of experience helping companies grow and making sure the humans inside them grow too. I've built high-performing teams across marketing and technology businesses, led organizations through multi-million dollar acquisitions, and supported companies preparing for IPO. My work has always centered on one belief: when people feel seen, supported, and developed, everything else follows. That belief is exactly why the Tulen Foundation has held a place in my heart for nearly 25 years. This community shaped how I think about empowerment, voice, and what it means to truly support people. Those are values I've carried into every role I've held. Seeing children gain confidence, girls find their voice, and young leaders get the backing they deserve isn't just meaningful work to me. It's personal. I also bring hands-on nonprofit governance experience, having previously served as Secretary of the Board for a charter school. I'm excited to put that experience alongside my background in people strategy and organizational growth to work for this community. When I'm not working or volunteering, you can find me running, sewing, or spending time with my kids, grandkids, and pets.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Us - Wren Gold - Fundraising Chair</image:title>
<image:caption>A nearly lifelong martial arts practitioner and Oakland resident, Wren has grown up in the Studio Naga community and is thrilled to be able to help give back to the community that raised them. Thanks in large part to their training and the support through the years of the Tulen Foundation’s scholarships, Wren brings over two decades of fundraising experience to their role on the board of the Tulen Foundation. Professionally, Wren has a decade of experience in clinical and translational research in health access, technology, and advocacy, including a board membership in a COVID relief nonprofit responsible for the distribution of over 125,000 pieces of PPE to remote and underserved populations in Canada. Their professional and personal lives and passions center on increasing accessibility for folks to live their lives in safe and empowered ways. They are thrilled to be able to return to Studio Naga and the Tulen Foundation and be able to support new generations of students as they train, grow, and flourish.</image:caption>
